I have been selected as one of the finalists to attend Flying Solo’s Paris Fashion Show on October 3, 2020. I feel fortunate and excited to be offered this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Showcasing my beadwork jewelry in Paris would be a dream come true and I'm here to tell you why I believe you should help me.
My goal for Moon & Milk is to be able to employ underprivileged women and single mothers and see my designs in runaway shows in different fashion capitals of the world. I want women to have the same chance of freedom and independence that Moon & Milk has given me. The reason why this is so important to me is because I have seen the women in my family and past generations live unfulfilling lives and never reaching their highest truest expression of themselves. My cousins, aunts, grandmothers, and my mother, unfortunately didn’t have the advantages that I have, such as: a college education, being born in the US, and having the support not only from my family but also my friends. Therefore, I have a responsibility to change my life and of others.
This is extremely personal and close to my heart and I’m determined to break the cycle and change this for the future women in my family. I want to give women the opportunity to break free from their expected roles and be able to chase their dreams. My independence is essential to my being, it is what drives me everyday to keep on pushing even on those days when I feel like throwing everything out the window, It’s what fuels me to become the truest expression of myself. That is why women around the globe buy my earrings, because my spirit of independence and freedom is channeled through my earrings. Everyday I am thankful that I was able to create my business and I strongly believe Moon & Milk can offer the same to hundreds of other women who are striving every single day to reach their fullest potential.
The fee to participate in Paris Fashion Week is $5,900. With such a short notice, I’m afraid it is not doable at the moment but with your donation everything is possible.
