Argentinian artist Werthein set up a trainer brand, Brinco (‘jump’ in Spanish) in 2005. She distributed the trainers free of charge to people attempting to cross the border illegally in Tijuana, Mexico. At the same time, just over the border in the US city of San Diego, she sold the shoes as ‘limited edition’ art objects for over $200 a pair. Werthein donated part of the money she raised to a Tijuana shelter helping migrants in need (TATE Museum).

Some designs do return, while others remain part of Moon & Milk’s past collections. Because each piece is made in small batches, availability depends on timing, materials, and current workload.
When designs return, they are offered through Made to Order. For one-of-a-kind requests, custom work may be available on a limited basis. Please contact us here.
What does "Made to Order" mean?
Made to Order means your earrings are created specifically for you after your order is placed, rather than being mass produced in advance. This allows us to produce in small batches with care and intention. Please allow 2–3 weeks for production before shipping.
Warranty

Jewelry Care
To preserve your Moon & Milk earrings, store them laying flat or hanging, preferably flat, in a dry and dark place. Original packaging is ideal for long-term storage. Keep away from heat, as the nylon thread used in construction may shrink and damage the beadwork.
Our pieces are created as heirlooms and are delicate by design. Please handle with care for longevity.
