Why Are Beaded Earrings So Expensive?
Aktie
Let’s talk about the question I get asked all the time: “Why are your earrings so expensive?” And I get it. We live in a world where you can open your phone and order mass-produced jewelry for the price of a latte. But let me be real with you, those earrings were made in factories by underpaid workers, using cheap materials, with zero soul or passion.
Moon & Milk earrings are not that. Not even close.
Each pair of my beaded earrings takes me 6 to 8 hours to make, sometimes longer depending on the length and complexity of the design. And that’s just the production. That doesn’t include answering DMs at midnight, photographing each piece, managing the website, designing collections, making reels on IG, packing your orders with care, and running this entire business—solo. I’m a one-woman show, with eight years of experience, and a lifetime of cultural inheritance guiding every piece. I'm not just a maker. I'm a master of my craft.
People assume that pricing should only reflect materials, but no one talks about labor, skill, or the emotional cost of creating art this precise. With beadwork, one mistake means I start over. There's no "undo" button, no Ctrl+Z. Just patience, steady hands, and the discipline to keep going until it’s excellent.
This work is detailed. It's exhausting. And it’s sacred.
So yes, my earrings are priced with intention because I refuse to undervalue myself. Too many women are taught to shrink, to apologize for charging what they’re worth, to feel bad for making a living off their gifts. But I’ve spent years sharpening this craft, and I will not put it on sale for the sake of speed or mass appeal.
When you buy from Moon & Milk, you’re honoring time, integrity, and artistry. You’re choosing story over trend, and craftsmanship over convenience.
And honestly? That choice, that love, for something slow, soulful, and real?
That’s what makes it priceless.
